1998 Dodge Ram SS/T
This is my 1998 Dodge Ram SS/T. I purchased it new on April 11,1998 at Advantage Dodge in Murfreesboro, TN off of the showroom floor. I traded a 1991 Dodge Daytona Shelby in on my SS/T. I've been told that Chrysler built 2567 Ram SS/T's in 1998. You could get an SS/T in 4 colors. They came in black, red, and green, all with silver stripes. The other choice was white with blue stripes. I don't know how many of each color they made. The color keyed bumpers and grill, stripes, 17"x8" wheels, crappy 275/60/17 Goodyear Eagles, 5.9 Magnum V-8, and A-518 automatic overdrive tranny came standard with the SS/T package.
My truck came fully loaded. It has leather seats, power door locks, power windows, anti-theft system, AM/FM/CD/Cassette player, sliding rear window, power heated outside mirrors, 3.55 rear axle ratio, cruise control, fog lights, anti-lock brakes and overhead compass and thermometer. I've tried keep my SS/T in as near to perfect condition as possible. I've never hauled anything in the bed and have kept it in the garage since new.
The only modification I have made is a trailer brake box, a receiver hitch, and pentastar decals on the back window. I would like to lower my truck. I won't do it unless I can find a lowering kit that doesn't require grinding the rivets that hold the leafspring hanger brackets to the frame. I'd also like to install a supercharger in the future. This truck will be retired from regular use when I get something else to drive.
